INJURY LEVEL: C6 incomplete
INJURY DATE: 9/19/15

On September 19th, 2015 while on a four wheeling trip with friends and family I was in a crash. We waited in the woods about 50 minutes for rescue to get to us and then it took about another 45 minutes to get me back out to the road to the helicopter that was waiting. I was awake and as always still cracking jokes and smiling even though while lying on the ground I knew I was paralyzed.

I spent about 25 days in Palmetto Regional Trauma Center and had to be airlifted to wake Med in Raleigh due to flooding in Columbia South Carolina and the hospital lost power and water.

I spent about 65 days in ICU on a ventilator and once I could come off of the ventilator I was moved over to their therapy ring. I got to come home on December 23rd, 2015. My injury level is a C6 incomplete, I am paralyzed from the chest down and my fingers and triceps do not currently work.

I am a courageous young man who continues to work hard every day in making improvements to my life and the others around me. I have a 25-year-old sister named Amanda who is getting married this year, which I am very excited about.

I am gaining strength every week and now I have a manual wheelchair to use as well.
